PAINTING BY NUMBERS
Circuits EP

Painting by Numbers are currently carving out a reputation for themselves in their native Ireland having recently supported the up and coming Delorentos and Boss Volenti.  Having also had the pleasure of recently appearing on the quirky Balcony TV – a small tv studio situated on a balcony of a building in the middle of Dublin – Painted By Numbers show that they are not just competent in the studio but live and acoustic to boot.

From the moment the first notes of ‘Old News’ escape from an initial play of their recently released Circuits EP, it is apparent that  Painting By Numbers know their craft well.

Ronan’s sensitive vocals, reminiscent of a male Alison Moyet are accompanied on their journey by melodic guitars set against the backdrop of pounding drums.

Each track on the EP works well to compliment the others, with Breaking Mirrors slightly breaking the mould of this winning formula. No bad thing as this shows a versatility that has the potential to take them above and beyond.
